AmaMia
in 2018 by director Heymer Alvarado with the vision of a Latin Dance Company which would not operate within the constraints of any style.
The intention, and now the reality, was a company which would pull from the movements, rhythm, and artistry of a myriad of dance styles, Latin and beyond.
Since that time, AmaMia has grown to comprise five teams which perform locally and internationally. Within the Latin Dance community, they have become known for their unique fusion of styles and magnetic performances. Audiences will see the influence of Salsa, Bachata, ChaCha, Samba, Flamenco, Hip Hop, Jazz Funk, Contemporary, and more at an AmaMia performance. To train with AmaMia means to be challenged and pushed out of your comfort zone. Outside of training and performing, AmaMia can be seen hosting pop-up workshops, and organizing our annual showcase, Muse
