DANCER/PERFORMER PASS INFORMATION

  • A unique code will be assigned to you. This code will be sent to your Team Leader/School Director/Teacher. It will be their responsibility to inform you about the code.
  • All performers are REQUIRED to acquire a Performer/Dancers Pass in advance through the Convention's website.
  • You will need a code to have access to the Performer/Dancers Pass.
  • Our team will authenticate all performer names provided. Only those team members actively participating in the 19th Montreal Salsa Convention qualify for the discounted Performer Pass.
  • Performer passes are non-refundable, non-transferrable.
  • To retrieve your performer pass, please bring a valid piece of photo identification to the Performers Booth located at the venue. It is mandatory to present photo ID for pass collection. Each individual must collect their own pass; passes cannot be collected on behalf of teammates.
  • Performers will be issued a wristband. This wristband must be worn at all times, including during performances. If the wristband is lost or removed, a new one must be purchased at $50.00.

DEADLINES

  • March 15th, price change of Performers Pass from $239.00 to $249.00
  • April 1st, final day of submission of application for performance.
  • April 15th, price change of Performers Pass from $249.00 to $259.00
  • April 15th, last day to send your rehearsal or performance video.
  • April 20th, last day to submit your performance music.
  • May 1st, price change of Performers Pass from $259.00 to $279.00

TECH REHEARSALS AND CALL TIMES

  • There will be no formal technical rehearsal.
  • The sequence of the show will be determined in advance by our Artistic Director. The performance order will be displayed backstage by the backstage manager by 4 pm each day.
  • Evening shows on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will commence at 9:00 pm sharp. The Sunday Rising Star Show will start at 5:00 pm.
  • Participants in the evening show must be present in the stage holding area at 8:00 pm dressed in full costume and prepared to perform without exceptions.
  • Participants in the Rising Star Show must be present in the stage holding area at 4:00 pm dressed in full costume and ready to perform without exceptions.
  • The backstage area is located one level above the venue, in Symphony.
  • If your group is unavailable when called to the stage, you will forfeit your performance slot. Shows will commence promptly at 9:00 pm each evening and will run for approximately two hours.
  • Stage dimensions: The stage for Friday night, Saturday night, Sunday afternoon, and Sunday night performances measures approximately 28’ x 20’ (width x depth).

MUSIC SUBMISSION

Submission of music for performances and competition showcase divisions is required in advance.

  • Deadline for music submission: April 20th
  • Ensure that you include the EXACT team name as listed on our Performance Schedule on the Schedule Page in the provided message box, especially if your school/company has multiple teams performing at the event. For couple performances, include the first and last name of each dancer.
  • File Naming: Detailed file naming is crucial for the efficient organization of the DJ for performances and competitions. Please name each file according to the following format: {GroupName}{TeamName}{Genre}_{Show/Competition}
  • EXAMPLES FOR PERFORMANCE:
    • SanTropez_AmateurTeam_Bachata_Show.mp3
    • Sonia_Moris_Salsa_Show.mp3
  • Music Format: MP3 files with a preferred bitrate of 320 (minimum bitrate of 220), WAV format, or Mac AIFF files. Ensure you are submitting good quality files, i.e., not music downloaded from YouTube.
  • Any performance music not submitted in advance will only be accepted during the event weekend in USB format (one track only), clearly labeled with the name of the performance team/couple.
